Palace of the Breeze

Hawa Mahal(Palace of the Breeze) is a Palace located at the Capital City to Rajasthan, Jaipur. The structure of the Palace was built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, and designed by Lal Chand Ustad. It was named so because it was essentially a high screen wall built for the women of the royal household could observe street festivities while unseen from the outside. Constructed of red and pink sandstone, the palace sits on the edge of the City Palace. The architecture is so brilliant that the person standing at any of the floor inside the Palace will never feel heat and sweat even if it is a hot Sunny Day.

A Random Photograph as it Delineate a Middle Class Indian Man. I clicked this simple Photograph in a haste without having any knowledge of its Depth but while going through these photos afterwards I noticed something in this which cannot find its place in few words. I want viewers to relate to the Happiness that comes on these Barren Faces when someone stops to buy their goods. Sardar Market of Jodhpur has many small shops selling basic things, their are also different-different markets for Rajasthani goods, pulses, sweets, cloths, jewelry, mouth fresheners, decoration things, etc. Shopkeepers of these market are not very rich, although they shows affability and generousness towards their costumers which is incredible.

Duck's Twerk and The Holy Lake

Portrays a White Duck with the Lake, Gau Ghat and temple of Goddess Saavitri on the Hilltop in the background. The Holy Lake of Pushkar Consist of 108 Ghats. These Ghats are also used for sacred bathing and rites, such as ancestor worship. Out of 52 Major ghats used by pilgrims to take a holy bath in the lake, ten important ghats on the periphery of the lake, which have other contiguous ghats adjoining them, have also been declared as 'Monuments of National Importance'. Some Famous Ghats among them are : the Varaha Ghat, the Dadhich Ghat, Saptarishi Ghats, and The VIP's Ghat known as Gau Ghat Popularly known for its VIP Visits. For Foreign Tourists a Seperate ghat is Reserved. Popularly known as "Angrezo ka Ghat".

Different Directions

Photograph is not so awesome from a Photographer's view but it attains many interpretations. It was clicked in haste while riding my bike. As the frame is wide enough, it portrays many elements i.e. in the focus we can see a tonga carrying some school kids while in the background their's statue of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar pointing towards the pigeons sitting on a wire at the right corner. Every element from this picture can be interpreted uniquely and then be related to each other. If someone asks me to interpret it I would probably say that the horse can be related to limitations as horse has to work for its owner irrespective of its own wish. Kids are berk, they cannot decide about their own and are dependent on their elders in the same way here they are dependent on the horse. So, Horse and Kids are bounded to limitations. On the other hand the statue is pointing towards the Birds which can be related to Freedom. So their are two different things Boundations and Freedom that's why I titled the post "Different Directions".

Squirrel's Snack

Portrays an Indian Palm Squirrel.

These Squirrels are commonly found species in India. The palm squirrel is about the size of a large chipmunk, with a bushy tail slightly shorter than its body. The back is a grizzled, gray-brown color with three conspicuous white stripes which run from head to tail. The two outer stripes run from the forelegs to the hind legs only. it has a creamy-white belly and a tail covered with interspersed, long, black and white hair. The ears are small and triangular. Squirrels are considered sacred in India and are not to be harmed. They are even fed by many Hindu families. This is mainly because of their association with Lord Rama.

Childhood Days

Portrays some children playing in a water-pool. 

More or less everyone is fond of their childhood. Everyone have good and bad memories of their infancy to Cherish. Those free independent days were most rich and amazing. However, in a country like India which is known for 'Joint Family' it become more amusing to live this age. In India, there are people having big blasting families with almost all relatives living together in big houses with lot of children doing almost everything together. 

These feelings of mine regarding childhood are very complex and it's very difficult to explain in just a few words. They are like moving pictures floating in my mind. I remember an incident from my school days, when my literature teacher was teaching a poem on childhood and in the beginning she asked every student what they feel from the word CHILDHOOD. After all the answers she received, she finally asked me for which i replied rather unprepared and unintentionally in that haste moment, "It's like a free Bird"........

My Blue City

Jodhpur City of Rajasthan is known as the Blue City, an apt name as most houses in the old city are shades of blue. It is an ancient summer treatment opted by the people as the Jodhpur is the most hottest city of Rajasthan during summers. People living here whitewash their houses mixed with indigo color, this treatment keeps the houses few degrees cooler in summers. This is particularly noticeable on the north side of the town, known as Brahmpuri. The view from Mehrangarh Fort is extremely beautiful it seems like blue colour is sprinkled from the sky on the city.

Ana Sagar Lake

Ana Sagar Lake is an artificial lake situated in the city of Ajmer, Rajasthan. It was built by Anaji Chauhan, the grandfather of Prithvi Raj Chauhan, in 1135 -1150 AD and is named after him. He built the landscape for the better cause of the society. Daulat Bagh, a garden laid out by Emperor Jahangar. Emperor Shah Jahan later added five pavilions, known as the Baradari, between the garden and the lake. The lake is spread over 13 Kilometers. There is a Circuit house on a hill near the lake that used to be British Residency. This is one of the beautiful lake in India.

Depth of the Eyes

Most of the area in Rajasthan has barren land which is unfavorable for Agriculture. Basically Marwar section of Rajasthan is known of its Desert however Jodhpur division is not fully desert ; Their are some parts where seasonal cultivation is done. So, peasants are very less in this area but the villagers who are traditionally settled here are earning their livings as Ranchers.

Rest & Peace

Portrays an Indian Grey Langur relaxing on a tree. 

These Indian Monkeys are also known as Hanuman Langurs and they are most widespread in South Asia, These langurs are largely grey, with a black face and ears. Externally, the various species mainly differ in the darkness of the hands and feet, the overall color and the presence or absence of a crest. Gray langurs are herbivores but they do not depend on leaves and leaf buds of herbs, they eat also coniferous needles and cones, fruits and fruit buds, evergreen petioles, shoots and roots, seeds, grass, bamboo, fern rhizomes, mosses, and lichens. Grey Langurs are commonly found species of monkey in North India. These Monkeys are very trouble making and restless, they are rarely found relaxing that's why I titled the post 'Rest & Peace'.

Eid Mubarak

Eid al-Fitr also called Feast of Breaking the Fast. Eid is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting. Traditionally, it is the day of the first sighting of the crescent moon shortly after sunset. If the moon is not observed immediately after the 29th day of the previous lunar month then it is the following day. Traditionally, it is the day of the first sighting of the crescent moon shortly after sunset. For Muslims, both the festivals of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha are occasions for showing gratitude to God and remembering him.

The Gardener's Tale

Rock Garden of Chandigarh is a Sculpture garden at India. Rock garden's initiative was taken by its founder Nek Chand secretly in his spare time in 1957. Nek Chand began collecting materials from demolition sites around the city. He recycled these materials into his own vision of the divine kingdom of Sukrani. His work was in serious danger of being demolished, but he was able to get public opinion on his side, and in 1976 the park was inaugurated as a public space.

Rajasthani Musician

Indian state of Rajasthan is famous for its folk music which has numerous types of musical instruments. Ravanahatha is also one of the famous and probably the earliest musical instrument. This humble instrument could well be the precursor of the violin. It has two main strings and a variable number of supporting strings, with a belly of half coconut shell and a body of bamboo. The bow has ghungroos(bells) attached to it. Ravanahatha popular in Western India and Sri Lanka.

Roseness Personified

Roses are very easily found and known flowers but while searching about this flower on internet I got to know some really awesome information i.e. there are over 100 species of rose plant. Roses vary in size and shape and are usually large and showy, in colours ranging from white through yellows and reds. 

Roses are also considered as symbol of emotions as every colour signify a specific emotion.

Indian Egret

Portrays an Indian(Cattle) Egret bird with some wild plants.

Cattle Egret Birds are generally found near the water bodies in Indian state of Rajasthan. In the monsoon time these Egret birds are commonly found in the village regions of Rajasthan near the cattle like buffalows, cows, etc. The cattle egret(Bubulcus ibis) is a cosmopolitan species of heron. It has a relatively short thick neck, a sturdy bill, and a hunched posture. The non-breeding adult has mainly white plumage, a yellow bill and greyish-yellow legs. These birds are originally native to parts of Asia, Africa and Europe.

Essence of a Beach

Valsad is a small district located in Indian state of Gujarat. Daman and Diu union territory is bounded by Valsad district on the north, east, and south.The Arabian Sea lies west of the district. Tithal Beach is a beach along the Arabian Sea located 4 km west of Valsad. The two major temples- the Shri Sai Baba temple located in south of the main beach and Shri Swami Narayan temple located in north of the main beach. Both the temples overlook the Arabian Sea. Valsad is also famous for its Kesar(Alphonso) Mango.

Snake Road

Nahargarh Fort was built in 1734 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the founder of Jaipur. This is the back way to Nahargarh Fort which takes you to city directly. Nahargarh Fort stands on the edge of the Aravalli Hills, overlooking the pink city Jaipur. In Ancient way it was used as a shortcut path for King’s travel. Fort is also popular location for Hindi movies, some scenes of the movie Rang De Basanti and Shuddh Desi Romance were shot here.

The Hookah Uncle

Click is basically a Rajasthani TABLEAU, which has an immense beauty of Indian state of Rajasthan.
It shows an old man with beard wearing Jodhpuri Turban, a Hookah, old armour, sword & some antique royal stuff. A Hookah is a single or multi-stemmed instrument for vaporizing and smoking flavored tobacco in which the vapor or smoke is passed through a water basin ‒ often glass-based ‒ before inhalation. Turban in the picture reflects the tradition of Rajasthan. While the sword and armour on the wall signify royalty.

Gazelle's Pose

Photographed at a small village of Rajasthan. The small herds of Indian Gazelle(chinkara) are found in the sandy deserts, not just Chinkara but robust blue bull(Nilgai), four horned antelope(chau singha), sambar and the spotted deer(chital) are also found at desert forests of Rajasthan.

Manali is a hill station nestled in the mountains of Himachal Pradesh, India. It has become a tourist spot in recent years. Manali is famous for its ancient Hadimba Temple, Rahalla Falls, Tibetan monasteries, Solang Valley, etc. Manali tourism also offers many adventurous activities like Trekking, River Rafting, Zorbing, etc.

Pushkar Lake

Pushkar Lake is located in Ajmer, Rajasthan. Pushkar Lake is a sacred lake of the Hindus. Pushkar attracts tourists from all over the world and though it is a religious spot, pilgrims throng in large numbers to take a sacred bath. It is believed that a dip in the lake cleanse sins and cure skin diseases.

Summer Evening

While summers Jodhpur is one of the hottest place in India. In afternoon temperature ranges from 36° C to 48° C. In the evening Loo(Hot Wind) use to blow and sky makes beautiful patterns and colors with a warm sunset.

Shepherd's Property

Marwar secion of Rajasthan is known for Desert. Although it is not full desert, villages nearby Jodhpur there are lands where seasonal cultivation is done. Therefore during the off-season these shepherds take their cattle for grazing in the fields native to their villages.

Papaya Tree

The papaya is a large, tree-like plant, with a single stem growing from 5 to 10 m (16 to 33 ft) tall, with spirally arranged leaves confined to the top of the trunk. The lower trunk is conspicuously scarred where leaves and fruit were borne. The leaves are large, 50–70 cm (20–28 in) in diameter, deeply palmately lobed, with seven lobes.

Photograph attains very less elements but are worth for clicking. It can be related to paradox basically because when one see it for sudden he'll like it in that single sight or he'll just say that it is a lame and nothing else. So, according to me to understand the hidden meaning of the picture one needs to have creative mind. I myself also won't be able to interpret it as I have no words on my tongue.

Jaswant Thada

Jaswant Thada is an architectural landmark located in Jodhpur. It is a white marble memorial built by Maharaja Sardar Singh of Jodhpur State in 1899 in memory of his father, Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. Jaswant Thada is surrounded by a beautiful garden and a water lake.

Rajasthani Puppets

Portrays a KathPutli Couple.

Kathputli(Puppet) native to Rajasthan, India. Kathputli is a join of two Rajasthani language words Kath meaning wood and Putli meaning a doll which has no life. Kathputli art tradition is more than thousands years old.The tribes of Rajasthan have been performing this art from the ancient times and it has become an eternal part of Rajasthani culture and tradition. No village fair, no religious festival and no social gathering in Rajasthan can be complete without the Kathputlis.

Red Flags

Portrays some red flags on a temple and Jodhpur city. Masuriya hill has two beautiful gardens. One of the garden has Veer Durga Das Statue. Which was inaugurated on 20 August 1994 by His Highness Maharaja Gaj Singh Ji of Jodhpur.

Rao Jodha Park

Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park, Jodhpur is next to Mehrangarh fort which was built in year 2006. the motto behind this park is to restore the natural ecology of a large, rocky wasteland. At present this park has large number of flora. It is a beautiful as well as adventurous park showing Rajasthani culure and tradition. A great attraction for tourists from all around the world.

Mehrangarh Fort located at Jodhpur, Rajasthan, it is one of the largest forts of India. The fort is situated 400 feet (122 m) above in the center of the city, one side is adjoined with the houses while the another side has beautiful Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park.
